With a combined investment from different investors, Edtech unicorn startup upGrad has raised around $210 million. The new investors that invested heavily in this unicorn startup are ETS Global, Singapore’s Kaizen Management Advisors, Bodhi Tree, Family Office of Bharti Airtel, and Lakshmi Mittal’s Artian investments and Narota Sekhsaria Family Office.
Apart from the new cash flow flowing from the new investors, the existing investors like Temasek, IFC and IIFL also increased their capital investment in the startup. Moreover, to maintain 50% ownership of the startup, the Founder group also invested around $12.5 million in this round of investment.
While commenting on the funds raised by the company, the founders Ronnie Screwvala and Mayank Kumar, in a joint statement, commented that the company would be investing in higher Edtech, which is on the rise for the next 4 to 5 years.
