5G Services to be Launched by Airtel by the end of August

After signing requisite agreements with Samsung, Nokia and Ericsson, Bharti Airtel will start its 5G services by the end of this month. In the recent spectrum auction for 5G services conducted by the Department of Telecom, Bharti Airtel bid and acquired 19867.8 MHZ spectrum in 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 3300 MHz, and 26 GHz frequencies.

In a press conference, Airtel’s Managing Director and CEO, Gopal Vittal, announced that the company would be rolling out the 5G services by the end of August.

The bid made by Bharti Airtel was worth Rs. 43,084 crores. With the rolling out of 5G services in India, more development in remote data monitoring is expected in sectors such as mining, warehousing, manufacturing, telemedicine and other sectors.
