With a goal corpus of Rs 120 crore ($14.5 million), Eternal Capital, founded and managed by former BharatPe COO Dhruv Dhanraj Bahl, has launched its first venture capital fund.
The fund can invest an additional Rs 120 crore through a greenshoe option, making its total capacity Rs 240 crore ($29 million).
November 2023 saw SEBI approve Eternal Capital for a Category-I AIF. Notable operators and businesspeople, including Suhail Sameer, Deep Kalra, Tarun Mathur, Vikas Gupta, Adarsh Menon, Nalin Negi, Sameer Chugh, Saurabh Vashishtha, Kunal Suri, and Amit Bagaria, have already committed to the venture.
Throughout the next three years, the sector-agnostic fund intends to invest in 40 businesses ranging from seed to pre-series A, with the goal of creating a diverse portfolio of “solutions for the future.”
As an early-stage angel investor, Bahl has collaborated with a number of well-known funds and angels to invest in over 50 firms since 2020. Among the businesses he has ventured with in his portfolio are Fleek, Vama, AdmitKard, GenWise, DrinkPrime, Basic Home Loans, ApniBus, and Volt Money.
Investments in post-PMF firms run by seasoned operators that have the ability to generate lucrative income over the medium to long term will be given priority by Eternal Capital.
The operator Eternal Capital wants to empower and facilitate business owners in creating items of the highest caliber. All that we do at Eternal is focused on accelerating the convergence of the three forms of capital that exist in this world: financial, social, and intellectual. With the support of a wide range of advisers and an experienced operator-led team, our collective expertise is more than just words on paper—it is the lifeblood of the team, propelling growth for entrepreneurs aiming for success. A sector-neutral fund that supports the development and expansion of game-changing companies!
