The world’s two richest businessmen, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are ready to take on Reliance Jio’s Mukesh Ambani and Airtel’s Sunil Mittal in the internet and high-speed broadband spaces.
They have come up to the Indian government with different plans to offer satellite-based internet connectivity.
Musk’s satellite venture, Starlink and Bezos’ Amazon have organized a separate consultation meeting with the Telecom Ministry and Department of Space. The meeting was held for starting satellite-based internet services in India, “though they are yet to apply for a license through the formal route,” the sources informed.
