Apple has introduced a new Lockdown feature which will be available for the devices running iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura. The technology giants like Cupertino plans to release the feature in the fall of this year.

The feature has been designed to provide safety to the users against hacking campaigns like Pegasus the spyware. All these hacking campaigns were used to break the phones from political rivals, journalists and executives globally.

Lockdown will give an additional safety net by blocking attachments and links in messages, compromised site URLs, and FaceTime calls from unknown contacts. It will also block the apple devices from accepting new accessory and peripheral connections until they are unlocked.

The company said, “Lockdown would offer an ‘extreme optional layer of security for some users, because they may be personally targeted by some of the most sophisticated digital threats.”
