The business Meragi, which provides wedding services, has raised $9.1 million in a new investment round headed by Accel and including Peak XV Partners and Venture Highway as existing investors.
Meragi was a member of Peak XV’s Surge accelerator program’s eighth batch.
According to a news statement from Meragi, the money will be used to open partner venues and experience centers, grow into new locations, and venture into more recent product categories like catering and venues.
Meragi, which was co-founded in 2021 by Mukund Mohan Raj, Abhinav Chandran, and Lakshminarayan B, offers contemporary wedding-related services such décor, makeup, hairstyling, invitations, location, entertainment, and photography and videography. Users of the site can find, create, and buy these goods and services for a range of lifestyle occasions.
Additionally, it provides destination wedding packages in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Goa, Coorg, and Chikkamagaluru. The Bengaluru-based company says it registered Rs 48 crore in gross merchandise value (GMV) last year, produced 3,000 events, and plans to treble this by the end of FY25. Customers there are mostly between the ages of 25 and 35, and this year, it plans to open locations in Jaipur and Gurugram.
