Gautam Adani Becomes Asia’s Richest Person, Surpasses Mukesh Ambani

Gautam Adani, the Indian coal mine tycoon has become Asia’s richest person, surpassing his fellow countryman Mukesh Ambani.

Green energy boosted his fortune to $88.5 billion. Adani has overtaken Ambani in the top 10 of the world’s richest people, according to the figures from Forbes and Bloomberg, he has seen the rise in his net worth by $12 billion in a year.

Adani group is an Indian conglomerate, controls the port of Mundra which is India’s largest port and is located in the mogul’s home state of Gujarat and owns 74% of Mumbai international airport. Adani Green Energy has paid off handsomely in the past year and the stock price has almost doubled.

The group projects to put an investment of $70 billion into green energy by 2030, to become the world’s largest renewable energy producer.
