Wify, a home furnishings installation firm, has raised Rs 25 crore ($3 million) in a pre-Series A round headed by Mount Judi Ventures and current investor Capria Ventures. Other investors, including Blume Founders Fund, also participated in the round.
The Mumbai-based startup raised $2 million in its previous seed round in July 2022.
Wify plans to utilize the new funds to increase value-added services in existing categories, grow into new ones, and improve capacity, software, and technology, according to a news statement.
Wify, founded in 2019 by Vikram Sharma and Deepanshu Goyal, aims to connect modern home brands with experienced technicians. Its SaaS platform simplifies order processing, on-site project management, and real-time tracking for both businesses and consumers.
Wify plans to use generative AI for employee training and onboarding, on-the-job support, and improved customer experience. With over 3,000 technicians on its platform, the firm operates in 100 cities across India and collaborates with over 100 prominent global and local brands, including IKEA, Amazon, Godrej, and Hettich.
Wify competes with Urban Company in the B2C arena, while there are a few regional B2B firms such as Mechanic2Home, Easyfix, and others.
Wify began as a B2B installation services provider for products that needed assembly and/or setup before use, such as flat-packed modular furniture, digital home goods, and appliances.
Today, it is one of the major providers of on-site installation and post-purchase services to over 100 firms, including IKEA, Livspace, Homelane, and Hettich. All of this is facilitated by its technology platform, which allows firms to handle orders and consumers throughout the product lifetime. Wify also creates thousands of new employment by training and upskilling tradespeople so that they can service these new generation goods.
