In the contemporary era, everyone is viewed as a brand and can be marketed as such, a concept fervently promoted by marketing gurus who have coined the term “personal branding” as the latest buzzword. The idea of branding is no longer limited to companies or products; it extends to individuals as well. Prominent figures like Elon Musk, Ronaldo, and Mark Zuckerberg exemplify this trend, as they are recognized as brands.

But what exactly is personal branding? It involves creating a distinct image in the minds of others when they think of your name, skills, or persona. This perception encompasses feelings, attributes, performance, and overall worth. Essentially, self-branding is the process of transforming oneself into an asset by establishing a clear identity that sets one apart from others. The goal is to establish a strong emotional connection with one’s audience or clients, who unequivocally believe in the added value the branded person brings to any situation or event.

Why is self-branding essential in today’s world?

The reality is that the job market is highly competitive, and even if you excel in your field, you are likely competing with more people than you realize.
