Using social media, Air India revealed the establishment of the largest training academy in South Asia, with the goal of educating over 50,000 professionals.

The largest aviation training academy in south Asia, to be located in Gurugram, Haryana, will open its doors on Thursday. Air India, a subsidiary of the Tata Group, stated that it will open the facility. It will span 600,000 square feet.

After it opens for business, Air India stated on social media that more than 50,000 aviation professionals will receive training there over the course of the following several years.

In addition to pilots, the training academy will also train ground handling, engineers, security personnel, and cabin crew. It is anticipated that the Air India Aviation Academy would open for business the following year.

“The facility will train over 50,000 aviation professionals in just a few years, including pilots, cabin crew, ground staff, and more,” Air India stated on X. The facility is set to open soon. In order to maintain crew readiness prior to upcoming aircraft deliveries, Air India will utilize more than 20 Full Flight Simulator Bays (FFS) to support its current and future Airbus and Boeing fleets.

In addition, Air India intends to open an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) school shortly with the goal of providing thorough training to engineering cadets in the aviation industry.

Twenty Full Flight Simulator (FFS) Bays will be included in this Air India facility to replicate the circumstances of the company’s current fleet of aircraft. The airlines and Airbus formed a joint venture to develop ten of the twenty FFS that were needed.

According to an official announcement from Airbus, the training center is scheduled to open in early 2025, when four A320 FFS will be installed initially. The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) have authorized the courses that the Tata Airbus Training Center will provide.
