The built-in culture of ensuring that not only do we give our 200% to resolve a customer problem, but our job is also to educate and empower the customer.”

An Unflinching Foundational Might
The AWS solutions landscape is continually evolving. In such a scenario, to ensure they remain adaptable and ahead of industry trends, providing innovative solutions to their clients, Pavan says, “We have identified five strategic pillars around which we are adding value to our customers:”
~Secure Everything– “We believe in a security-first approach in our offerings to customers.”
~Cloudify – “Whether a customer is new to the cloud or has a hybrid environment (on-premises + cloud), completely on the cloud, or a multi-cloud approach, we support their cloud journey.”
~Data and Analytics, AI/ML – Today, customers want to use Data and Analytics to make informed decisions for their business. Likewise, they want to innovate using AI/ML to enhance how they serve customers and do business. Pavan says, “We support them in their endeavours.”
~Automate and Innovate: Businesses must automate and innovate to achieve the desired digital transformation outcomes. “We support customers in this journey.”
~High-Performance Computing: Customers from Research and Development fields, including leading IITs, CSIR labs, Media and entertainment, animation, etc. companies, need huge parallel computing clusters to run their jobs. Locuz has been an expert in delivering HPC clusters for its customers both on-premises and in the cloud.
Taking Care of the Team
In addition to these five strategic pillars, Pavan says they believe in Continuous Learning and Training, R&D and Innovation Labs, Customer centric approach, Thought Leadership and Community Engagement, leverage AWS and other resources to keep ourselves ahead of industry trends, remain adaptable and provide innovative offerings to their customers.
Recognized as a driving force behind Locuz’s achievements, Pavan shares his leadership and team-building approach within the organization. He says there is a quote on leadership by Simon Sinek: “Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge.”
Taking a cue from this quote, Pavan leads his team by providing both what each individual needs to excel and what the team needs to succeed.
What each individual needs to excel could be mentoring, specific training, delegating, and sometimes micro-managing, albeit hesitantly.
In terms of what the team needs to succeed, it could be providing a vision, recognition, reward, empowerment, trust, inclusive decision-making, building adaptability and growth.
Cleaner Tech with GreenOps
Sustainability and environmental responsibility are crucial aspects of the modern IT industry. To integrate these principles into their operations and contribute to a sustainable experience, Pavan says they at Locuz have engineered a CloudOps tool called ClouTor, which they offer as a service to their CloudOps customers.
“While ClouTor by itself brings much value to our customers in terms of providing Cloud visibility, Automation, Security and Health, Governance and Reporting, and Cloud economics, now we’ve gone one step ahead and included GreenOps as part of our offerings to customers.” This adds momentum to customers’ sustainability goals.
The GreenOps offering provides a comprehensive, one-stop emissions management service for customers’ net-zero cloud journey.
*ESG monitoring and reporting: Measure your organization’s cloud-induced emissions portfolio and actively monitor emissions as your cloud infrastructure grows.
*Green Cloud Consulting: Chart your own cloud emission reduction scenario. Develop plans to create a carbon downtrend as your cloud infrastructure continues to grow.
*Intelligent Carbon Management: Employ intelligent tools to optimize your cloud use and actively reduce emissions. Run your systems on grids with low carbon intensity.
We Succeed Together
Pavan also believes that the workforce is the cornerstone of every successful organization, including Locuz. That is why “It is very important for an organization like ours to foster a culture that not only attracts top talent but also supports and retains that talent through continuous growth and development,” he says. “As part of our culture, we provide several learning and development opportunities like training programs, workshops, seminars, and access to courses tailored to help employees gain new skills relevant to their roles, future career aspirations and organizational goals.”
He furthers that they support work-life balance through flexible working hours, remote work options, and adequate time off for their employees; this ensures they do not burn out and can maintain productivity in the long term.
“We believe in Recognizing and rewarding employees for their contributions, which boosts morale and encourages high performance,” he adds. Whether through formal awards, promotions, or informal acknowledgements, the appreciation makes employees feel valued.
Pavan reveals that they provide Career Pathing to employees. This helps employees understand how they can grow within the organization and become more empowered to pursue their career goals within the company. “We even offer career transitioning roles within the organization,” he says.
Emerging Strongest Amidst Challenges
Success is always hard-earned. Further, you must maintain it amidst ongoing challenges. Pavan says it is true that as a leading AWS partner, they face several challenges, be it from the competition, delivering services quickly and cost-effectively to their customers, attracting, hiring, and retaining highly skilled talent, ensuring the security and privacy of their customer’s data, and meeting stringent industry regulations and standards.
He recalls, “One such challenge we faced was when we started working with one of India’s largest Renewable Energy customers on an IoT – Data Analytics use case.” The customer’s IT infrastructure was completely on-premises, with data centres in the city and distributed RE assets across India. They needed high availability, scalability, security, and storage capacity, along with real-time and near real-time monitoring of RE assets and analytics from the data collected through IoT sources. As the customer increases their fleet size across the country, the on-demand availability of IT infrastructure is a challenge. Much investment goes into CAPEX and OPEX to expand and maintain the on-premises data centres. There was no consolidated view of the data because the RE data was residing in two kinds of silos. They had a mix of third-party and internally developed visualization tools, which lacked flexibility and increased O&M costs.
Pavan adds, “We set out to do a pilot project with them, launching a minimum viable product (MVP) program using AWS. With key stakeholders from the customer, AWS and Locuz getting involved, we did a lot of brainstorming, R&D, and proof of concept. We achieved the MVP as was targeted over six to eight months, in what turned out to be a first-of-its-kind case study for AWS & Locuz globally in the renewable energy sector, cutting across wind, solar and hydro energy.”
Today, thanks to this experience, they’ve engineered a purpose-built accelerator for RE that many other customers with similar use cases could use to improve their GTM.
Looking to the Future
Pavan says their vision is to be the technology lifecycle partner of choice for Digital Acceleration and Innovation, which is Cloud-led, Security-first, and Data-driven for our customers. “We want to empower our customers to achieve digital transformation and sustainable growth through pioneering AWS solutions and cloud-native innovations.”
To make a significant impact on India’s AWS solutions landscape:
- “We must continue to innovate by developing proprietary tools and frameworks that enhance the functionality and efficiency of AWS services.” This could include automation tools, AI-powered analytics platforms, or industry-specific solutions that help businesses leverage cloud technology more effectively.
- Establish partnerships and collaborate with companies with niche skills and similar visions to innovate and co-create applications/platforms that solve customers’ problems.
- It will add momentum to customers’ sustainability initiatives and help businesses reduce their carbon footprint, which aligns with India’s climate goals.
- Tailor Customer-Centric Solutions that meet the unique needs of different industries, such as financial services/FinTech, healthcare and life sciences, Manufacturing, retail and e-commerce, etc. This approach would involve using data analytics and AI/machine learning to provide predictive insights and personalized service offerings.
- Adhere to the highest data security and regulatory compliance standards to build trust and ensure privacy. As India tightens its data protection laws, being a leader in compliance will be a competitive advantage.
By pursuing these goals, Pavan says they aspire to grow as a company alongside contributing significantly to India’s digital infrastructure by democratizing access to cutting-edge technology. It would enable businesses of all sizes to benefit from the agility, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of the AWS cloud. It would position the company not just as a service provider but as a key enabler of India’s digital future.
Happy Client Stories:
*“For one of India’s leading human resource services companies, we helped them seamlessly migrate their big six home-grown Microsoft applications onto AWS,” informs Pavan. The migration included more than 20 production servers (along with the UAT environment) and was managed 24/7 from the state-of-the-art Cloud NOC.
*For one of the largest NBFCs in India, which has extensive product lines for higher education loans, as a trusted partner, Locuz has built the data platform on AWS using EMR, Athena, and QuickSight (AWS BI). “Customers now have unprecedented visibility into business operations, and their decision-making process has been greatly accelerated,” concludes Pavan.
