One 97 Communications’ senior vice-president of business, Praveen Sharma, has submitted his resignation, the fintech leader revealed in an exchange filing. March 31 is when his services will come to an end.

In his letter of resignation, Sharma said he plans to look into “other opportunities” once he leaves the organization.

According to Paytm, the company is now going through the yearly review process, which is a regular procedure for all organizations and does not imply layoffs.

The company stated in its exchange statement that layoffs are “misconstrued” as a result of its restructuring activities and performance-related adjustments.

“The claims of layoffs affecting 50% of our workforce are unfounded and misleading. We are focused on sustainable growth, innovation, and providing exceptional service to our customers. We urge our stakeholders and the public to rely on factual and verified information from official sources and disregard speculative narratives,” the agency quoted the Paytm statement.

“Paytm remains dedicated to its mission of leading the digital payments and financial services landscape in India, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, customer service, and team development amidst unfounded layoff speculations,” the company added.
