These entrepreneurs, which were assisted by the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), showcased a wide range of products and services that represented the developing entrepreneurial scene in the area. For aspiring business owners, the Startup Mahakumbh-2024 provided an amazing forum for networking, teamwork, and gaining insightful knowledge of the dynamic startup scene. The startups from Jammu and Kashmir showcased their tenacity and steadfast dedication to promoting innovation and economic progress in the area through cutting-edge technology and sustainable projects.

Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Director of the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), along with other institute executives, joined the companies from J&K during the Startup Mahakumbh-2024, which proved to be an incredible platform.

Expressing his delight at the participation of these dynamic ventures, he stated, “The presence of our startups at Startup Mahakumbh-2024 underscores the region’s immense potential and the government’s steadfast commitment to fostering entrepreneurship. Through platforms like these, we aim to empower our entrepreneurs, catalyze innovation, and propel Jammu and Kashmir towards a brighter future.”

With their creative ideas, the J&K startups enthralled both tourists and investors, establishing themselves as major players in India’s emerging startup scene. Their presence demonstrated the growing entrepreneurial potential in Jammu and Kashmir as well as the region’s readiness to make a significant contribution to the country’s startup ecosystem.
The participation of entrepreneurs from Jammu & Kashmir is evidence of the openness and diversity ingrained in the nation’s entrepreneurial fiber, as India forges on its path to become a worldwide powerhouse for startups.

Attending the three-day event were five well-known entrepreneurs from Jammu & Kashmir, together with Assistant Manager Sorab Mengi and Incubation Manager Zahid Ali Dar from JKEDI. Their involvement was a critical turning point in the area’s entrepreneurial history and demonstrated the government’s dedication to fostering a thriving startup environment and allowing indigenous inventions to succeed on a national and international scale.
Over 1,000 startups, 50 unicorns, 500 incubators, and 5,000 delegates from 23 countries came together for the Startup Mahakumbh-2024, a ground-breaking initiative spearheaded by industry heavyweights like ASSOCHAM, Nasscom, Bootstrap Incubation & Advisory Foundation, TiE, and Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association.

Supported by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), this three-day event featured notable individuals such as Amitabh Kant, Sivasubramanian Ramann, and Falguni Nayar, with the purpose of promoting innovation and collaboration across diverse industries.
Up to 23 states took part in this three-day celebration of entrepreneurship, displaying their startup ecosystems and regulations. An important turning point in the region’s entrepreneurial journey was reached when startups from Jammu and Kashmir participated in Startup Mahakumbh-2024. This demonstrated the government’s dedication to fostering a thriving startup ecosystem and allowing indigenous innovations to flourish on the national and international scene.
