Tata Steel Signs Memorandum of Understanding for Drone-Based Mining Solution with Start-ups

On Wednesday, Tata Steel the domestic gigantic said that it amalgamated with a Bengaluru-based start-up for providing drone-based mining solutions for effective mine management.

The primary aim behind the amalgamation is to equally develop to offer sustainable end-to-end blended solutions that will emphasize on the safety, productivity, and efficiency of open cast mining functionalities.

The company stated in a statement that, “Tata Steel has signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Aarav Unmanned Systems (AUS), it is a start-up based in Bengaluru, to provide end-to-end drone solutions for constructive mine management.”

“The company will co-operatively work with AUS to provide drone-based services, which incorporates mine analytics and geo-technical mapping of the Tata Steel group companies in all mining locations across India,” the company further stated.

On he collaboration of AUV and Tata Steel, D B Sundara Ramam, the Vice President, Raw Materials, in Tata Steel postulated, “The drone survey will empower the digitalization and other technological development that will assist in gathering impactful and actionable insights. They see extensive potential in redefining core mining methods such as mine planning and exploration using adequate analytics and drone data.”
