Tech Mahindra Gets New MD and CEO

Mohit Joshi, who left Infosys after more than two decades, has been named MD and CEO of Tech Mahindra. He will succeed C P Gurnani, the current MD and CEO, who is retiring on December 19.

Joshi, the CEO of Infosys’ Financial Services and Healthcare/Life Sciences divisions, resigned on March 11. Joshi will be with Infosys until June 9, 2023.

Mohit Joshi attended Delhi Public School in RK Puram before graduating from Saint Stephen’s College, Delhi University, with a degree in History. Following that, he earned his MBA from the University of Delhi’s Faculty of Management Studies. In 2019, he also studied Global Leadership and Public Policy for the Twenty-First Century at Harvard Kennedy School.

Joshi, a veteran in the enterprise technology software and consulting sectors, has been with Infosys for nearly 22 years. He oversaw the banking platform, the AI / Automation portfolio, Sales Operations, Transformation, the CIO function, and the Infosys Knowledge Institute at Infosys. He also served as the chairman of Edgeverve Systems, where he was in charge of the software vertical, which included Finacle, the worldwide banking platform. Joshi has worked for some of the world’s greatest organisations, including Infosys, ANZ Grindlays, and ABN Amro Bank. He was the CBI’s Vice Chair of the Economic Growth Board (Confederation of British Industry). In 2014, the World Economic Forum designated him a Young Global Leader.

Mohit has served as a Non-Executive Director of Aviva Plc since 2020, and he also serves on the company’s Risk & Governance and Nomination committees.
