Indian multinational restaurant aggregator platform and food delivery company Zomato plans to expand its Intercity Legends service to top cities in the coming few months as it adds more reputed restaurants to its portal to expand its food delivery service.
Zomato launched its Intercity Legends service as a pilot project in Delhi, aiming to offer 24-hour food delivery from premium restaurants in different parts of India. This included Chole Bhature of Delhi, Biriyani from Hyderabad, and Bengali sweets of Rosogollas and Sandesh from Kolkata, now many more to join in this national menu. The service is currently available to users in the Bengaluru and Delhi-NCR regions, respectively.
“We have a lot of clarity. Over the next three months, we want to be in all top cities,” revealed Siddharth Jhawar, Head, Intercity Legends division, Zomato.
According to the top executives of Zomato, the company has inducted around 120 restaurants from ten different cities; the restaurants will be geared towards preparing and packaging the food parcels that travel efficiently and in the right condition. Zomato is now planning to expand the offering to other cities steadily.
