Goods worth $37.29 billion were exported from India in the month of December, the highest ever in the month. Gems, petroleum items, jewellery, and engineering products were mostly in demand. The number of exports has exceeded in 2022-21, which is $290 billion. Imports also rose up in December by 38 percent to $59.27 billion. The trade deficit is $22 billion in December 2021, In the months of April to December 2021, it has reached $143.97 billion.
“With $300 billion in the first nine months of 2021-22, we are on track to achieve our target,” Commerce and Industry Union Minister Piyush Goyal informed reporters on Monday.
“If we look the data from 2016 to December 2021, the export of every month from April to December 2021 is historical. Export worth $103 billion have been seen in three months of October, November, and December, the highest to date.” Goyal added.
