Writing on X (formerly Twitter), Anand Mahindra shared that he had initial doubts about the growth potential of Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi and his company. However, he confessed to being proven wrong.

During his recent visit to India, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi engaged in a one-on-one interaction with Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani in Bengaluru, covering various topics, including Uber Eats’ food delivery service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

While in India, Anand Mahindra took the opportunity to meet with the Uber CEO and acknowledged his earlier skepticism about Khosrowshahi’s tenure and Uber’s longevity as a company. However, Mahindra admitted to being pleasantly surprised by their success and commended Uber’s disciplined corporate culture.

“I initially encountered @dkhos in Davos shortly after he assumed leadership at @Uber. I’ll admit, I questioned both how long he’d remain at the helm and the company’s longevity.”

“Today, the company stands solidly profitable, boasting a disciplined, no-frills corporate culture, and a market cap of approximately $170B! It was delightful to reconnect with this individual of remarkable acumen,” Mahindra shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday.

“When I first encountered @dkhos in Davos shortly after he assumed leadership at @Uber, I found myself pondering how long he would lead the company and, indeed, how long Uber would endure.

Today, the company stands solidly profitable, boasting a disciplined, no-frills corporate culture…”

During his visit to the Uber office in Bengaluru, Khosrowshahi joined a ride in the Uber Shuttle bus with several other members of the Uber India team, describing the cab aggregator service in India as “a one-stop mobility hub.”
