Blackberry Ends its Phone Service Worldwide

BlackBerry confirmed that it has ended its phone services worldwide. The once-popular smartphone making company will no longer support operating systems for its devices. The Canadian-based company announced that the devices would no longer work for phone calls or data services.

Though the devices having BlackBerry’s operating system will not work, the company confirmed that the devices with the Android operating system will work. The models launched between 2015 to 2018 are included in this list.

After announcing the decision in September 2020, BlackBerry has now moved from being a device manufacturing company to a software developing company. Chief John Chen announced that the company will be providing security software and services to enterprises and governments around the world.
