On a trial basis, the social media giant, Facebook Inc is letting some of its users to make place video and voice calls through the main application. The company is aiming to let users easily make calls without opening its standalone application, Messenger.
Years ago, Facebook launched Mesenger from its main application. To send messages and make calls, the users had to download the Messenger app.
In last September, the company tried to tie together messaging through its suite of apps between Instagram and Messenger. This move enabled the users to find, message, and place calls without downloading both apps.
But for a full featured audio, video, and messaging experience, users will have to download Messenger, a spokesperson from Facebook said.
