Mercedes Benz launched the new EQS 580 4Matic in India at an ex-showroom price of ₹ 1.55 crore. This model EQS 580 4Matic is assembled domestically and is positioned below the Mercedes AMG EQS 53S. The EQS undercuts the S-Class by ₹ 5 lakh and is the company’s first domestically assembled electric vehicle in India.
The new Mercedes Benz EQS 580 4Matic comes with an elegant toned-down front bumper, its blanked-out grille is studded with illuminated 3-pointed stars adding to its rich looks. It has 20-inch wheels with a five-spoke design, a 3210 mm long wheelbase, and measures 5,126 mm in length. EQS 580 is claimed by Mercedes as the world’s most aerodynamic car, with a drag coefficient of 0.20 due to its couple-style design, lower than EQS 53 of 0.23.
It is fitted with a 107.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack, that empowers its two electric motors in front and rear axles, respectively. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in 4.3 seconds. The battery pack supports 200kW DC fast charging, to add 300km of range in flat 15 minutes. The EQS 580 has an ARAI-certified range of 857 km on a single charge.
