Johnson & Johnson Withdrew Application for Janssen Covid-19 Vaccine

On Monday, India’s drug regulator said that Johnson & Johnson withdrew its proposal of seeking approval for Janssen Covid-19 Vaccine in India, without mentioning any additional details.

The meeting was conducted on July 29. A line in Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation’s (CDSCO) note on a meeting said, “The firm has informed that they are withdrawing their proposal.”

Johnson & Johnson claimed that its vaccine generates a strong and effective response for delta and other corona virus variants. According to the company, the neutralising antibodies lasts for at least eight months. The healthcare added that the vaccine was 85% effective.
