For the Android Google Search app, Google is finally introducing a “erase history” function that will delete the last fifteen minutes of search requests. “Delete history” was introduced at Google I/O 2021 in May and released two months later on iOS, but it took almost a year to arrive on Android for some reason.
According to a statement Google issued to The Verge over the weekend, it’s finally rolling out.
If you want to delete the last 15 minutes of your search history, open the Google Search app via the app icon, tap on your profile picture in the top right, and a new “delete last 15 minutes” option should appear at the top of the pop-up menu. If you don’t see the setting, try pulling the app away from your recent apps and reopening it to get the most recent configuration from the cloud.
