UK Willing to Collaborate with India on Green Energy

On Tuesday, Alok Sharma, the UN Climate Change Conference President met RK Singh, the Union Minister of Power and Renewable Energy. Mr. Sharma expressed that the UK is willing to collaborate with India on green hydrogen.

In a meeting held in India, the issue of phasing out of coalfired power plants was raised by Mr. Sharma. The meeting was attended by high commissioner of the UK and other senior officials.

Mr. Singh said that till March 2021, India has retired 16,369 MW of inefficient thermal units. The minister emphasized on the need of developing and developed countries to work together for reducing down the cost of storage.
