On Monday, the Chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani announced World’s largest and India’s very first Carbon Fibre plants at Hazira, Gujarat. The plant has a capacity of 20,000 MTPA based on Acrylonitrile feedstock.
To the overall Oil to Chemical segment (02C), Mr. Ambani invests ₹75,000 crores over the next five years for the expansion of the capacities in existing as well as the new value chains. Value chains are – Vinyl chain, Polyester value chain, and new materials. The polyester chain is the world’s largest single-chain PTA plant in 3 MMTPA capacity at Dahej.
Further, being committed to his vision, Chairman Ambani mentioned “We will commence Acrylonitrile production next year and aim to complete the first phase of the plant in 2025. Given the expansions, Reliance will soon rank amongst the Top-5 producers of PVC globally “
